American singer songwriter, Bruno Mars, is heading for a tour of Australia next month, from the 12th to the 16th of April.
He only released his debut album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" in October last year, but the worldwide success of his songwriting and production group The Smeezingtons has anchored Mars up there where the megastars belong.
Reflecting on his experiences so far, he realises that all the behind the scenes work has been valuable in his development as a complete singer. He said, "I realized that you have to go into this industry as an artist with a clear vision and understanding of who you are. Being so young when I was first signed, I never really had a sense of who I wanted to be. Now things are really working out because everything that I'm singing, writing and composing is really me."
Already he has scored two number one singles from his first album. The songs 'Just the Way You Are' and 'Grenade' have smashed the charts. This year he was nominated for seven Grammy Awards, and won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Just the Way You Are".
"It's Better If You Don't Understand" is the 4-song EP he released last year, which received positive critical reviews. When he was asked about his music Mars was very philosophical in his comment, saying, "It's hard to put myself in a box. I just write songs that I strongly believe in and that are coming from inside. There's no tricks. It's honesty with big melodies. And I'm going to be singing the s-- out of them."
One can only describe Bruno Mars as sensational. He has scored number one hits, he has sung with the biggest in the music industry, he wrote the smash hit "F*#k You", and next month the music phenomenon will be here in Australia.
