Adam Young of Owl City and Taylor Swift have a crush on each other; Young makes the revelation today through musical lyrics, just as Swift previously did. Taylor Swift has over the last year made news for her love songs and the hidden messages for the men that broke her heart. But this time around, the object of Swift’s attraction is writing a song back.
Taylor Swift has previously warned future boyfriends to watch out; if you dump her, you’ll probably end up in one of her songs. But that doesn’t bother Adam Young of Owl City.
In Swift’s Enchanted, featured on her 2010 album Speak Now, Swift signs about her random encounter with Adam. In the lyrics inserted for the album, Swift capitalized letters to spell out “A-D-AM”. Adam now writes on the band’s website that he is honored to be featured in a Taylor Swift song. “I was lost for words and utterly smitten. I couldn’t stop
smiling.”
Now Young reveals today he, too, has written a song, also called Enchanted, dedicated for Swift. Adam says he is too shy as music is the easiest way for him to communicate. His Adam Young’s lyrics on Enchanted include “I was never in love with someone else / I never had somebody waiting on me / ‘Cause you were all of my dreams come true / And I just wish you knew / Taylor, I was so in love with you.”
In fall 2010, Swift was asked if it bothers her that men might not date her for fear of getting memorialized in a song after they break up. Swift said she didn’t care. After three albums about writing breakup songs, men should know what they are getting into with her, Swift told MTV News. “You guys have had fair warning!”Taylor has previously told news that the message on all her tracks have been made intentionally “very clear.” Swift says that she wrote the messages in her songs so clearly that she won’t have to send out an email explaining the lyrics on each song
